Hi, I have Multiple Sclerosis and synesthesia. I have known my brain/body was different for around 6 years now as far as I can recall. I have 'music animation' synesthesia where I see images when I hear music, and colour/letter/number association.

Happy to be involved in research, and find out more about what is going on in AUS around synesthesia. I am 26.

I've just discovered synesthesia and find it fascinating. I wouldn't go as far as to claim that I am a ynesthete but I do understand the idea that numbers and words (specifically names, for me) can be attributed to colours.

I discovered synesthesia whilst doing research for my final year university project about how the combination of audio and visual stimuli can help enhance perception over observation within the context of art and this really is the pinnacle of what I'm trying to explore.

Karen Chenausky of MIT wrote on her website that synesthesia is like an extra way of perceiving the world, and because of that extra dimension, the things that she perceives in that way are the ones she holds most dear and that pretty much hit the nail on the head for me.

I would be very interested in knowing more about the subject. Further to my own research, if you could get back to me with either some further relevant information on the subject or even thoughts on how audio and visuals specifically can be received by a synesthete I would be very grateful.

I have always felt synesthesic since early childhood. Words have always had colour, however I have never really felt letters have colour. Music has colour as do emotions and words. If I do abstract non figurative art I give little if any thought to which colours I pick up, its done in an instant and yet it works well structurally and with colour sense. Music often feels good at these times but I am not concious of its effects as I draw or paint.I have a good ear for sound pitch and can play instruments without knowing music.
